Nude eyes and lilac lip - Maybelline "The Nudes" palette

Greeting my ladies!
As you may already know from my previous posts, I bought the new "Nudes" palette from Maybelline. I have been playing a lot with it lately, creating some very nice soft everyday/night looks. And today I would like to share with you one look that I actually wore on my birthday.

Create the look:

  • Apply (1) all over your lid.
  • Take the combination of these two colors (2) and concentrate them to your outer "V" and the crease.
  • Use the same color combination below your waterline and smudge it just a little bit.
  • With an angled brush apply (3) to the very outer "V"
  • Take a blending brush and blend the harsh lines together to create that soft smokey look.
  • I did not want to use actual eyeliner for this eyelook so I dipped a small flat brush into this black shade (4) and lined my eye very softly.
  • Apply your favorite mascara and you are done with your eyes :)
On my lips I used the combo of the Jordana lipliner in the shade and the NYX Butter Gloss  in the shade Eclair!
Don't forget to put makeup on the rest of your face. You are ready to head out the door!

Products I used:

Maybelline "The Nudes" Palette
Revlon Colorstay foundation
Baby Skin Primer by Maybelline
Easyliner for lips by Jordana in shade Silver Lilac
NYX Butter Gloss in shade Eclair
Forever Blush Duo by Coastal Scents (IPSY sample)
Perversion Mascara by Urban Decay

Until next time,
xoxo Marjana

Happy birthday to me! - Weekend fun...

Hello everyone!
This Saturday was my 21st birthday! I had been so excited about it all week along and when it finally was the moment I went a little bit crazy :P
The celebrations started on Friday night. My girls and I went for a walk at Riverside. It was such a nice evening and of course we had to take some pictures!

After that we went at Casbah Hookah Lounge. If any of you lives in Jacksonville, definitely check it out. We started by ordering a hookah - of course - with a very complicated flavor of pomegranate, vanilla and grapefruit. It turned out to be really tasty. And we also ordered some Peach Lambics (beer)

You know how alcohol makes you hungry? Well, that is what happened to us so we ordered some fries and a traditional Albanian dip. But since we were so excited I totally forgot to take a pic of the basket when it was full :( :P

Around midnight, after dancing with the belly-dancer and legally drinking, I got a surprise birthday cake from one of my friends!!

The next day, on my actual birthday, I went to Pulp San Marco for an amazing breakfast of acai bowl. Heaven on earth !!! A couple of minutes later I was invited for another birthday drink! A delicious spicy Bloody Mary.

After that my hubby and I decided to have a comfy and casual dinner at our favorite restaurant Buffalo Wild Wings. We usually stick with just the wings and chips but we were feeling a little bit hungry so we also ordered their spinach and artichoke flat-bread. And of course I had my Margarita treat :)

And here is a cute surprise my overseas friend prepared for me. She called on my Skype with this delicious desert and candles and started singing me "Happy Birthday!" As for my parents they had prepared a dinner and sent me a picture of the fruit plate...

That is all I got my loves! I had a wonderful birthday! Sometimes little simple things make you feel better than the luxurious ones.
I also wanted to thank you for reading my blog :)

Ipsy Glam Bag: August 2014

Ipsy-time again my ladies! And as usually I am pretty excited about what I got in it. The theme of this month was "Beauty Schooled" which fits perfectly with the start of the school-year. The bag is really really cute; it is a white round bag with orange polka dots and it just like the classic pencil case that you can use everyday at school. Big thumbs up for the bag but now...let's go inside...

1.Absolute Lip Balm Grape is the first product  for this bag. First of all - the packaging is so cute and lovely. It has a very nice scent and the formula is pretty damn good. It is so moisturizing, feels so smooth on my lips and not sticky at all. I am gonna have to say: "I really like this balm!"
This is a full size and you can buy it here.

2. Forever Blush Sample Duo by Coastal Scents is the next product in the bag. I received the shades Fresh (Left) and Elegant (Right)Not really excited about this one honestly. I really do not like the way they packed these blushes even though they are sample sizes.  On the other side both colors are pretty and sooo pigmented...I can see myself wearing them a lot. You can buy the full sizes here and they are on sale :)

3. The third product is the Silk Kajal Kohl Eye Pencil by Lord & Berry. This is a very nice shade of black. The formula is really smooth and it is very easy to apply BUT it smudges quickly and wears off for a short amount of time. I would not recommend it for these hot days in Florida...
You can buy the full size here for $16.00

4. My number one favorite product of this bag is the Pores No More Pore Refiner by Dr.Brandt. This is an amazing primer. I used it a couple of days ago before applying my makeup and my face looked flawless. There were no pores on my way...I love this primer but inside this little tube is enough product for only two applications. :( and the full size product , which you can buy here, costs $45.00 !!! Use the code IPSY20 for free shipping and gift! :) :)

5. And the last product which I am totally loving is the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara. This is just not an amazing formula and a perfect wand but it is also a mini-size. We are supposed to change the mascaras once every three-four months and let's be honest ... we do not do that with the big mascaras because there is so much product in them . But besides that... this mascara is such a beautiful dark black and it makes my lashes look longer and with more volume - especially the bottom ones. It is worth it. Buy it here my ladies!

Well, after reviewing the products I give this bag an A-.
Thanks for reading me,
xoxo Marjana

Product Review: Maybelline "The Nudes" palette

Two weeks ago i decided to try the new palette by Maybelline. Everyone is talking about "The Nudes" palette - it is all over social media and magazines so i thought I would give it a try because i like trying new products!
The palette has 12 nude shades; six matte and 6 shimmer. The package seems steady but it is plastic so it might brake and ruin the shadows if it accidentally falls.  :( I like the fact that it is relatively small (a little bit smaller than a Samsung S3) and it fits really good on a usual makeup bag. It also includes a double-sided brush.
The front side of the palette has a window where you can see all the colors from. At the back you find all the info and ingredients and ect. BUT you also find something which I think it is really cute, fun and also smart. So, Maybelline has separated the eyeshadows into three quads, four trios, and six duos. This is very helpful when you are not into the mood of creating and want something fast. You have 13 looks ready for you - no need to think about it. :)
As far as the quality of these shadows I would say it is pretty good but not the best. I experienced some fall-out - nothing too serious I cannot work with. The shadows feel really "soft" and not difficult to blend together. Two of the lightest colors don't show up on my skin because they are too similar to my color tone, but the other ones seem very pretty colors. I also think that the shimmer is beautiful and helps on boosting that natural glow instead of looking glitter-ish. Also the matte eyeshadows are not completely matte.
Overall. I think this palette is amazing for a go-to/everyday/back-to-school palette because not only has the basic nude and natural shades but it is also small, easy -to-carry in your bag and it costs only $12 ( a dollar a shade). Def an A for a drugstore-multi-use palette. :) Good job Maybelline!!

I got mine at Walgreens - go get your here!

And if you want to see how I use this little baby that I totally love, come back soon!

Lots of Love,
xoxo Marjana :)

Birthday Wishlist!

YES! August is finally here and I am sooooo Happy!

It is my favorite month of the year because it is like the "Sunday of Summer" and it is my BIRTHDAY! Can you tell how excited I am??? I love birthdays - mine and others. There is always something about birthdays that make me so happy. It does not mean if it is my "special day" or someone else's -  I am always excited and put a lot of effort in it.
I love the feeling of waking up in the morning knowing that it's my Day and I get to do whatever I want and be spoiled as much as I want. But let's be real here -  the best part of the day is when you receive the presents. I personally love receiving - of course - but I also love giving. I stress myself a lot thinking about the right gift for the right person because I want it to be thoughtful and useful no matter its size or price. I think of it as something that will always remind him/her of me.
Anyways, this post is not a gift a guide but a wishlist. I decided to share some of the things I would love to be gifted for my birthday this year. Keep in mind: I am not asking for these, they are just some ideas I love. So here I go...

 1. A Cruise to literally anywhere... I love the sea and my dreams is and always be to live next to it. A cruise seems like the closest thing to living by the sea. I love the idea of being on a huge boat that looks like a floating city, and explore the waters. My number ONE wish.

 2. Tickets to "overseas" !  Can you guess the country?? AL !!

 3. Universal Studios Orlando - specifically The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Yes it is my 21st birthday but I still am a HUGE fan of Harry Potter. No comments on that :) :P

4. A Michael Kors Watch - Rosegold and Rhinestones

5. A birthday card from somewhere overseas! - Thoughtful and emotional gifts make me the happiest!

6. First Aid Beauty Products!

7. Flowers!

8. A MacBook Pro!

9. Finish my beauty room/ makeup vanity!

10. Be legally DRUNK! It's my 21st birthdayyyyyy!

July Favorites!

Hello Loves and Happy August!
It is again that time of the month whenI share with you all the products I have been loving during the month of July. You may habe noticed I didn't post a June's favorite and the reason for that is really simple. I just didn't have time - I was constantly packing and unpacking and moving and cleaning and I really couldn't find some good products that I used enough to call them "favorites". I hope you understand :)

But this month I have some really good products to show you. So without further due let's jump right in, shall we?

Skin and body care

This is my "Must Have"  trio when it comes to sun care. When living in Florida you really need to have a face sunscreen if you don't want to get your face burned and protect it from the strong sun. The Neutrogena Sport Face is just the perfect one because is is 1.oil free 2. SPF 70 and 3. Sweat-resistant. "Thumbs UP"
For those days when I go to the pool or the beach I like to use the Hawaiian Tropic with SPF 15 because I already have some tan on my skin and it will not get burned from sun.

Make-up

July's inventory was looking pretty good . I really did not need anything except a good pressed powder to set my foundation and keep the shine away. This Revlo Nealry Naked pressed powder was just the one I needed. It feels very soft on my face, the color is the right one for my skin tone and it lasts for a long time.

Clothes and Fashion accessories.

Another "Florida lifestyle" item. A pair of swimsuit I bought a Target as soon as I came here. I just love the floral theme and the vibrant colors that make a statement. This top is a bra-looking one but on the back has two straps that make it more fun and better looking.

Random

A lot of randoms this month. I want to start with these couple of cute nail polishes I purchased at Urban Outfitters. These are AMAZING. The colors are beautiful - this shade of purple is my favorite and so vibrant and as for the beaded one is so unique. They have such a good formula and let me tell you something. I had these on my nails for two straight weeks and my nails were barely chipped - keep in mind I washed a lot of dishes... I am not sure if these colors are still on store but you have to go and check out the other colors they have. Your money is worth it.!

My new job involves making a LOT of healthy smoothies. I have learned so many new recipes for super delicious smoothies and juices and now this is something I do all the time. So this little baby has been used non-stop and it made it to my fav's list :)

Last but not least, is this cute couple from L'OREAL. This DUO from the Total Repair line is EXTREME as its name is. My hair is feeling soft and healthy again - and the smell is to die for.  I definitely recommend this duo if you need to restore your hair or just boost its health.

My favorite show: Pretty Little Liars - who on Earth is A???

My favorite songs:

Rixton - Me and My Broken Heart

Jason Derulo - "Talk Dirty" feat. 2 Chainz

Sam Smith - Stay With Me

See you next time!
xoxo, Marjana
