My beauty vanity!

I have always dreamed of a beauty corner since I was very young. I used to fantasize of my own vanity where I kept all my beauty supplies, a place I would escape when I didn't want to be in the real world. I tried to create this corner in every space possible in my bedrooms or bathrooms until last year, when I finally found this beautiful white vintage vanity. I had to get it. It was perfect.
Three mirrors, cute drawers and a stool. I sit there and I feel beautiful instantly. I know it sound silly and ridiculous, like a little girl...but I do feel like that.

I got the vanity as a birthday gift last year, but I finally decorated and organized it the way I want so I thought I might share it with you in case you are looking for ideas to decorate your own beauty vanity.

1. Flowers - No vanity can be completed without a pretty vase with flowers. I actually got the vase from Goodwill and the flower from JoAnn's. You can also use fresh flowers, I do it from time to time and it makes the magic more real! :)

2. Small mirror - It may seem like this vanity has plenty of mirrors, but I wanted to add this small one to help me with details. The big mirror is a little bit too far when it comes to checking on details while applying makeup. I got it from Marshall's and it has a magnifying mirror on the back.

3. Acrylic organizers - These are a must. They make everything look clean and in its own place. There are many designs out there, you can find them online on in store. I got this trio set from Home Goods and it fits perfectly with everything else. I use the biggest ones to store single eye shadows or sample size goodies, the rounded one for lip liners, eyeliners, mascaras and brow pencils. On the third one I keep foundations, primers, and the most used lipsticks.

Once they are full with products I place them in front of the mirror in the middle of the desk. The right corner has the flowers and the small mirror, and the left corner has a cute jewelry box. I bought the jewelry box at Goodwill's and painted it white myself. It fits perfectly with the color and vintage theme of the vanity.

4- Organize the way you like - I keep all my brushes in the middle drawer of the vanity. The other drawers are filled with the few makeup products I owned. The top left drawer has palettes, blushes and bronzers; the top right one has eye pencils, eyeliners, lashes, extra mascaras and other eye products. Bottom left one has sample products or new ones I need to try; and the bottom right drawer has lip related products.

5. Decor more - You can fill the picture with more color by adding little cute products. I have displayed my night cream, parfumes, a pink clutch, cute boxes ect. Here are a few shots to give you a fuller picture of the vanity.

I hope I was useful in some way. Let me know what you think and share your suggestions with me. Have a great week friends.

Love,
Marjana

Holiday Home Decor - Mari Christmas ep.1

It is finally December and I am so happy! Like extremely over Happy! Can you guess why?

Christmas time!!!

I have loved Christmas since I can't remember. When I was a child my mom and dad would involve me in every single preparation from setting up the tree and decorating every corner of the house to cooking the Christmas dinner. We had so much fun. There were so many moments of happiness that today make the most beautiful memories.
And of course I believed in Santa Clause ( I think I still believe :P ). Every Christmas Eve we would be watching movies till late and just before midnight we would go out to watch the fireworks. That was the time when my little mind was thinking what my present would be! The moment I'd get back inside, there it was...my present! How did they manage to hide it from and put it under the tree when they were by my side all the time? I still haven't figured the answer. Maybe one day...

Moving back to my teenage years, when I had my own big bedroom...Every Christmas I'd bring out the small Christmas tree we had and decorate it. I had light pink and lavender decor. I loved it! As much as I love decorating my own apartment today. Nothing too big, but simple red and gold decor, shiny glitters and lots of Christmas lights. It is the best time of the year!

Today is Saint Nicholas for all the Orthodox believers. And we have a tradition of setting up the tree and lit the house for Christmas. I decorated mine till late last night and I wanted to share with you some pictures. I hope you like them and get inspired. Christmas is here and the "Mari Christmas" series have begun! More posts full of joy are to come, but until then I will leave you decorate your own trees and houses!

Have a Merry Christmas!

xoxo Marjana

Welcome to my little village :)

Missed last year's decor? Check it out here!

September Favorites!

 Is it October yet???
I still cannot believe it! Well that means only one thing...time for some monthly favorites !

Skin and body care

Probably two of my most favorite products of all time. Yes! I have been obsessing over face products and trying to explore more and these two little ones have been really nice to my skin. The Clean & Clear cleanser is so soft on the skin and does an amazing job with cleaning my makeup and all the dirtyness of the day. Whether the hydrating mask...well you already know if you read my review on that.

Make-up

I finally decided to buy a new eyeliner and after reading and listening to different bloggers' opinions, I purchased the NYC High Definition liquid eyeliner. This is the blackest black I have ever seen on an eyeliner. It is very easy to create a winged line in just 2 min and the color stays black for a long time. Totally worth the money!

The Cailyn lipgloss I received on my Ipsy bag has been a staple go-to lip product. I put it on every time I need something simple that looks like I put a lot of effort on...Go check my handbag and you will know what I am talking about ;)

Clothes and Fashion accessories.

Oh Boy! Did I do some shopping this month...Don't judge! A lot of stores had great sales and the new season is here. To be honest I still haven't bought anything very fall-ish (perks of living in Florida) but I did buy some late summer pieces which I am in love with. No.1  goes to my Guess open toed booties. I just think they are the perfect nude colored shoes and the heel is exactly how I like it. I have been pairing them with jeans, skirts, dresses...a versatile piece you need for your wardrobe. Best part: they are super super comfortable !

Staying with the nude shoes, I purchased this flat gladiator style sandals from G by Guess. As you can tell from the pictures, I have wore them A LOT! Comfortable and good-looking.

Random

Do you remember my birthday wish-list? Well some of the wishes came true including the makeup vanity. I got one a couple of weeks ago and I am still working on the decorations. My beauty corner is finally coming to life, and this "Princess" wood piece is part of it. It is very girly and probably not for my age but it makes me feel just like it states - a Princess!

I like to play with my nails and change the color every week. That being said I don't go after quality when it comes to nail polish - I hunt colors! And this pink-y nude nail polish from Pure Ice caught my eyes immediately. It has such a beautiful metallic finish!

My favorite show: Revenge (find it on Netflix and watch it !!! )

My favorite songs:

Iggy Azalea - Black Widow ft. Rita Ora (singing it out-loud every single time )

Meghan Trainor - All about that Bass

It was an awesome month! Looking forward to see what October has reserved :)

Oh WAIT! It is Halloween month, isn't it??? hehehe...be prepared!

See you soon,
xoxo Marjana

DIY - Makeup Brush Holders

Hello my lovely friends! Today I have an easy and inexpensive DIY for you. I recently bought a new set of brushes and OMG - every time I start doing my makeup the whole place turns into a mess. There are so many brushes and it became very difficult to open and close their pouch every time I needed a specific brush. This is why I decided to go at the Dollar Store and buy a couple of things that will help me create something cute and useful.

Things you will need:

  • 2 candle holders = $2
  • 2 glass vases (I chose one squared and one circled) = $2
  • glue gun or any other strong glue you might have at home
  • salt, I am sure you have salt in your kitchen but I suggest to buy some more in case you chose to do this version = $1
  • big fat colorful chalks = the whole packet you see in the pictures costed $1
  • patience  ^-^
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pershendje mikeshat e mia! Sot dua te ndaj me ju "krijimin" tim te radhes. Para pak kohesh bleva nje set te ri me furca per makeup dhe ...

Materialet qe ju duhen:

  • 2 mbajtese qiriri
  • 2 vazo qelqi, une zgjodha nje te rrumbullaket dhe nje katrore
  • ngjites per qelq, une zgjodha te perdorja pistoleten e silikonit sepse  me pelqen shume :)
  • kripe; edhe pse mund te kini kripe ne kuzhinen tuaj ju sugjeroj te blini pak me shume ne qofte se vendosni te beni kete version
  • shkumesa te medhenj me ngjyra
  • dhe pak fare durim ^-^

After you collect all these things it is time to start our DIY! :)

I keni te gjitha? Cfare prisni? Fillojme...

1. Apply glue on the top of the candle holder.
2. Apply glue on the bottom of the vase.
3. Stick them both together, press gently.
4,5. Repeat step 1 for the second candle holder.
6. Repeat step 2 for the second vase.
7. Stick the pieces together and press gently.
8. Let them dry.
9. Voila :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aplikoni ngjitesin ne pjesen e sipersme te mbajteses se qiririt dhe ne pjesen e poshtme te vazove. Bashkoni pjeset duke ushtruar pak force dhe prisni sa te thahen. :)

Now that you have your brush holders ready you will need something to fill them. If you don't do so the brushes will still be a mess and you will not be able to see them clearly, you will still struggle and you will still have a mess. You can choose anything to fill the holders with, a friend of mine uses coffee grains. I wanted something more girly, colorful and fun. This is why I chose salt and chalks.

1. Pure some salt on a container and start mixing it with the chalk. The salt will scratch the chalk and it will color.
2. Pure the colored salt in the brush holder.
3. Do the same thing with all the colors, layering them one by one until you have a rainbow :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tani qe i keni gati mbajteset tuaj duhet t'i mbushni me dicka ne menyre qe furcat mos qendrojne te lira dhe te jeni serish rremuje. Mund te zgjidhni shume gjera per te mbushur vazot, nje shoqja ime perdor kokrra kafeje. Une doja dicka shumengjyrese dhe pak me shume vajzerore, prandaj zgjodha kripen dhe shkumesat.

1. Hidni pak kripe nje taper plastik dhe filloni ta perzjeni me shkumesin. Kripa do te gervishte shkumesin dhe pas pak minutash do te marre ngjyren e shkumesit.
2. Hidhni kripen e ngjyrosur ne vazon tuaj.
3. Perserisni te njejten procedure me te gjitha ngjyrat dhe shtojini ne vazo shtrese pas shtrese duke krijuar nje ylber. :)

Put your brushes and voila! Here you have a nice brush holder and decoration too :)

Thank you for visiting me!

Shpresoj tju kete pelqyer!
Ju perqafoj,
 Marjana :)
